Dynamic Advanced, is a state of the art facility for the aviation sector, with hands on training for all employees for private & public air transportation.

Featuring real fuselages and aircraft that are fitted to industry standards, it is the one-stop shop for all aviation companies who require their staff to have hands-on training.

Juma'a Mosque . Dubai Creek Harbour

A signature designation on Dubai’s skyline, brings forth signature
architecture. Minimal, contemporary but reminiscent of Islamic
motifs, transparency is key in the use of carefully placed mashrabiya
and calligraphy.
This detailing is the focus of the lighting intent. Openings, texture,
volumetric form, graphics are enhanced with light. Light on the
interior plays a crucial part on the exterior, giving rise to a finely
balanced addition to the Creek Harbour-scape.

A bi-yearly design & art inspired venue in the Middle East. A converted warehouse into a gallery space that can be completely removed without leaving any footprint.
Light creates propagation within space, daylight & artificial lighting merging, telling a story of the old merging to the new. Spatial connectivity, history, art, new & old- a tapestry for Middle Eastern culture

Exhibition Competition

Bait-al-Bana't

The first of its kind. A space dedicated to the history of the UAE's women folk. The poets, mothers, politicians that changed the face of the Emirates as we know it.
The space is characterised with permanent & temporary exhibitions that house collections as well as curates exhibitions by up&coming artists.
A workshop area is included for new and old methods of art. As women do, the centre is one of nurturing the new & old.

Osram . LME 2018

An exhibition is an investment. It is a competition for attention so that each brand can showcase technology, foster relationships & generate new leads.

For Osram, a strong sense of identity was important, due to its multitude of changes and different business units. A light box of information, innovation & content is suspended above for a strong brand image. Product installed in situ by application, and casual seating spaces - all designed to affirm Osram still leads, setting the bar high

Leading a new branding strategy deployed worldwide, emphasis is placed on the use of product without it being displayed - this was the brief. For 2019, the design is centred around a central bar for networking & a dual storage purpose. Product enhances dynamic, flexible, and colour saturation that the brand(s) is known for. A floating ceiling and open space reinforces its innovation & leadership in lighting. Dynamic scenes created showcase the excellence behind the moniker Light is OSRAM.

Al Rayah . Jordan

A wedding hall, open to the sky and visible from afar. Characterised with its location on a hill high above Amman, the brief was visibility.

The lighting scheme creates a fairy light effect with a play of optics, colour temperature and controls. Minimal lighting allows for the sky to be "reflected' through the pools of light on the floor. Spaces connected by pools of light, beckoning newly-weds to a new beginning.

Millennium Airport Hotel . Dubai

A well-known and respected establishment, with premium facilities
for its guests. To keep its role as a key player on the hospitality
scene, a refurbishment of the entrance areas was planned. A fullscale
lighting intent which maximises the transparency of the lobby,
and existing reflective flooring was introduced, as well as a scheme
that underlines not only the interior architecture, but that of the
brand, in presenting themselves as a tasteful hotel of choice for all
visitors.

SLS Hotel . Dubai

UAE's first hotel with public floors at L69 upwards & ME's first SLS. Located between D3 & Downtown Dubai, it boasts 360degree panoramic views of the Dubai skyline, from the World Islands to the Arabian desert.
Light enhances the luxury & glamour. Integrated layers accentuate the plus interior; light is felt in the deepest recesses of space. Extravagance is emphasised by specific techniques, leaving visitors in awe.

Golden Tulip . Zanzibar

A tourist destination, Zanzibar’s first airport hotel is characterised
with the distinct architectural styles reminiscent of the blend of cultures that have graced its shores. Light is demure, reminiscent
of that culture, welcoming guests to experience true Zanzibari
hospitality. Motifs are highlighted, architectural elements and joinery
detailed. This emphasis leaves the interior architecture to stand out
of its own accord.

A young and vibrant destination, LEVA is a home-grown brand of hotels established by JS Anand, based on his 25yr+ experience.
An existing site, with 12 week design & build period, light transforms space & guest areas creating an identity for the young brand, a destination for guests that is unforgettable. A mixture of raw elements, concealed light brings the artwork, public & private spaces to life.

A unique experience of gastronomy, Molecule is characterised by a
funky interior and exquisite contemporary menu.
Lighting followed suit.
Aspects of lighting strategies reveal the interior architectural detail,
providing atmosphere, contrast, intimacy & inclusion.

A destination for the wealthy. With a concept of fine dining, this
project centred around a luxurious interior designed for the rich and
famous.
The lighting intent enhances the ‘billionaire’ label, using warm
intense bands of colour to dilineate, enhance and wrap all patrons
in ‘gold’, synonymous with luxury. Working in tandem with the AV
consultant, entertainment and architectural lighting melt into one.

A'Cappella . The Pointe

A destination for the young. With a concept of casual but fine
dining, this project centred around a bar imbued with a strong
industrial/artisanal interior design.
The lighting intent enhances the central bar area for ease of service,
creating a central gravitational pull. Characterised with an open
atmosphere and location, brand identity is created by using an
intense saturation of light on the periphery - a canvas of colour,
against which, the warm white is enhanced.

As often happens, a project may have missed assigning a lighting design budget.
When it comes to F&B, the atmosphere is most often created by the play of light within a space. For this project, thought limited timelines & deliverables made it challenging, we reached a vital goal.
Traditional elements and perspectives, interior architecture & emphasis - all created through the clever use of lighting techniques. Looking forward to the final result!

Every Day Every Night. The first of its kind in Dubai, EDEN was a beach club that was to be the next destination for those that wanted to experience a beach lifestyle from morning to night.

With yoga and health activities during the day to nights filled with the latest global DJ's, it was certainly the place to be.

Lighting connected spaces by creating privacy as well as spatial relationships, using the architecture to disperse. More detail on the link.

40 Kong . Dubai

Known to be on the social Dubai Night Calendar, 40 Kong was a venue known for its cocktails and bar menu.

Owing to its popularity, The Crystal Group decided to further its services to encompass fine dining as well as deal with the slight acoustic issue. A structure and greenery were introduced as a result.

Lighting dealt with this need using strategies of indirect ambient light on the vertical green walls & suspended trusses. The result - maximum impact using subtle concealed lighting.

An oasis of decorative lighting breaks the monotonous ceiling with its glint of brushed bronze. This ensures a slight reflection on the windows, bringing the restaurant within the vista of the Dubai skyline

Dubai's #1 Italian restaurant, with unparalleled views of the Downtown skyline.

This destination restaurant is known for fine dining - impeccable service & quality. The existing scheme did not give the venue justice for its reputation. The new lighting concept focuses on tables for that fine dining experience, with a play of light on the periphery. The Tube bar is transformed with dynamic play of light, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

One of the few Jones Outlets to use an independent lighting consultant, and the results speak for themselves.

Interior architectural detailing is stunning - artisanal, yet sophisticated. The lighting scheme focuses on these elements, working hand in hand with LXA's vision of a space that could be transformed from a cafe feel to dining by night. We love this space. Canal Residences . Bay La Sun

A destination for the new generation of Saudi nationals, these
residences are located on the edge of a bay. Characterised with open vistas, a floor to ceiling concept is employed for all the interiors bordering the building edge in pre-cast concrete. A scheme both non-intrusive, innovative was required - an identity created. A play of illuminance on the underside of cantilevered balconies - residents cable to switch individual balconies off, leading to a variety of lighting schemes on any day!

Plot A01 . Mina Rashid

the iconic Mina Rashid waterfront. Unique architectural elements
include cantilevered horizontality with punctuated vistas within.
Light enhances architecture by “living” in grooves, openings, slatted
vistas; what is visible by day, is then visible by night. A subtle
placement of sources ensures visual comfort, and a reflection of the
lighting scheme on the adjacent waterway - adding to the location’s
glamour. Similar strategies are employed in all interior and landscape
areas

King's College Hospital . Dubai

Located on the edge of the Dubai Hills Estate, this project was of paramount visual significance.
An area seldom seen, the lighting scheme presented
complemented architecture with a twist. Warm light imakes what is otherwise an uncomfortable destination, welcoming. A play on concrete layering, horizontal bands of architecture are lit. A soft-controlled scheme - some areas would fade in and out, making the project
appear different enhancing its brand identity.

One of many projects in the greater Dubai Hills Estate.
The consensus was simple, to have a facade lighting scheme that complemented other neighbouring properties by other consultants. We focus on the architecture, revealing that which we see by day, at night.

Another simplistic and minimal architectural facade. For this project, the scope was extended to encompass all interior and exterior spaces. As with our creative process, we focus on architectural features. The cantilevered edges of the architecture are subtly illuminated, framing edges, with intense light starting from the corners, fading in towards the centres of the buildings.

A destination for the new generation of Saudi nationals, these
residences are located on the edge of a bay. Characterised with high
end, modern, warm interiors, no detail goes amiss. Lighting focuses
on this detailing, subtly putting together a space which flows from
the entryways, through public areas to private residences. A balance
is created with light, between the facade, landscape, public and
private interior spaces - warmth, sophistication and an address to
remember.

Private Residence . Riyadh

Central courtyards and cantilevered volumes frame vistas for
occupants in this contemporary villa. An incredible sophistication
is paramount due to the architectural finishes. The lighting scheme
is minimal, integrated into corners and joints within the architectural fabric, for a visually functional and appealing
space. Openness to the sky is repeated by carefully
placed stars of light flowing from the exterior fence, to the
interior courtyards, bringing the inside out, & the outside, in.

Surrounded by architectural masterpieces, this private residence
is characterised by the client’s style - young, dynamic, rising to
the top of his industry. Lighting enhances vertical & horizontal
architectural elements; steps of light lead from the gate past the
main entrance to the garage; entryways & cantilevered roofs are
emphasised; a ‘reflection’ of the roof’s coloured light onto the pool
is created. Set against the deep West African sky, architecture by
day is re-informed at night.

The MEAA’s first independent aviation safety & evacuation training facility providing hands on training for private & public air
employees. The lighting scheme started with studying daylight;
facilitating functional tasks, whilst highlighting all the different
elements within the space was key. Dynamic scenes were created,
simulating different times of day. Aircraft
simulators from the actual cabins inside, to the floating platforms outside were also designed to a detail

Gargash Hospital . Dubai

The first of its kind in the UAE, the Gargash Hospital is Dr. Husnia’s
dream come true, having dedicated her life to helping families who
struggle with fertility. The external and internal scheme were to
marry together so that the inside became part of the outside, thanks
to an interior architecture which enhances transparency and lightness
within the space. Interior lighting is applied in layers, enhancing
space, focusing on wayfinding, creating a multitasking environment.

A destination for fashion, one of UAE’s first of its kind, BySymphony
curated by Emirati entrepreneur, Salama Alabbar, began as a vision
to meet the needs of women much like herself. Characterised by
sophisticated elegance, light enhances displays of high-end fashion.
Subtle continous glows of light on the backdrop “fins” and the
staircase create wayfinding and a layering reminiscent of the fashion
process.

A centre of innovation & training, Wavespace is a destination in
Area 2071 of Emirates Towers. A hub for technology and AI, it joins
other such projects that are curated by the UAE government to lead
its quest in achieving leadership in this sector. Lighting is versatile,
allowing for transparency, privacy, focusing on visual tasks; using
strategies to enhance spaces for their allocated functions. As
a result, a level of sophistication is achieved.

Lacasa ID . Dubai

An exploratory relationship, we designed the lighting scheme working closely with the ID team at Lacasa.
Spaces were brightened with vertical illuminance, focus lighting introduced to facilitate visual tasks - especially with the use of decorative lighting selected by ID, and implemented by the lighting scheme.

Some things sometimes get lost in translation however - a switch spec not doing justice to the original intent. Alas, we will have to make do with our visuals!

Only commissioned for the Concept & Schematic stages, our lighting intent focuses on the brief from the architect - bringing the inside out and the outside in.

Having only been awarded the external spaces, a study of the interior language was conducted to introduce similar elements to the exterior. Courtyards, a haven for evening scholars, with visibility of spaces of paramount importance. As with all our concepts, we concentrate on revealing the intrinsic nature of architecture & space!
